Back in '93 I was an art major at the University of Houston and saw in the Daily Cougar that the Afghan Whigs
were playing on campus. Love Jones was the opener, and I had no clue who they were. I went for the Whigs,
but ended up totally hooked on Love Jones -- I grabbed Here's to the Losers and wore it out.
Around the same time I was just starting to mess around with this whole "web" thing... teaching myself HTML,
figuring out scanners, all of that. So I emailed them and said, hey, you don't have a website, can I make one?
Shockingly, they said yes, mailed me their press kit (and told me to send it back!), and let me run with it.
This site was the result -- hand-coded in Notepad, graphics scanned on the clunky lab machines at school.
It was my first real web project, and I kept it going for a couple years. Looking back, it still cracks
me up that a band actually trusted some random college kid to put them online.
