02.20.99... After a long gap, here’s the latest:

• Film debut: Since You’ve Been Gone (formerly Dogwater) is now out on video (Feb. 16). Directed by David Schwimmer, starring Teri Hatcher, Lara Flynn Boyle, Rachel Griffiths, with cameos by Marisa Tomei, Molly Ringwald, Jennifer Grey, and Jerry Springer.
• LJ appear as a reunited high school band, performing a Duran Duran medley, “Come on Eileen,” “867–5309/Jenny,” and a Bossa Nova “Love is a Battlefield.”IMDB Link
• Stuart is touring as drummer for the New Radicals and played on two tracks of their album.

08.31.97...

• Good news: WB’s Head over Heels will feature “Paid for Loving” in its first episode.
• Bad news: The planned Swingers TV series didn’t happen.
• Stage & press: Stuart stole the show in a Buddy Holly musical in San Diego (per Adam on the LJ mailing list). Mentioned in Raygun with Mike Myers, Susannah Hoffs & Matthew Sweet — joking about needing a sub drummer on the Sabbath.

04.02.97...

• Jon Favreau developed a Swingers TV pilot for Fox with a new LJ song; Barry & Stu’s Cousin Lovers appear as a biker bar band. Filmed April ’97, but not picked up.
• LJ did a “Table Read” for Fox execs for an LJ TV show concept — no word on purchase.
• Schwimmer movie (Since You’ve Been Gone) still awaiting release date; soundtrack TBD.
• Band has demo’d 9 new songs — Barry says it’s their best yet.
• Stuart appears in and co–wrote a song for Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (released May 2).

11.05.96...

• Jonathan is Music Supervisor on NBC’s Friends till the End (Feb. 1997) starring Shannen Doherty.
• Swingers soundtrack includes “Paid For Loving” (Barry was Music Consultant).
• LJ featured in Dec. GQ lounge bands article.
• Frequent gigs with Cousin Lovers (Barry, Stuart, Dean Thomas).

08.06.96...

• Finished filming Dogwater (David Schwimmer) and ready to record new demos.
• Appeared on MTV’s Singled Out prom edition as house band.
• Ben Daughtrey has left the band (amicably).
